Fabio Paolucci X Angelo Trofa Collaboration

Just finished the first of a short series of illustrations with mes amis Angelo Trofa. I adore his work so i was delighted when he asked me to collaborate with him for the 3rd issue of his magazine. I might post a black and white rendition of the work in the new year.

Experimenting with Form and Light

Iv'e taken the first step in evolving one of my everyday sketches into 'real life'. I'm quite content with the end result i think the image in my head has translated directly to paper. I had the idea of using high contrasts in the image as i believed that would bring out a special quality considering the form of the figure.

Carisma Logo Design

The logo i have designed for carisma utilises the mythical bird Phoenix as a direct metaphor for the charitie's ethos: ‘Life-Chances for Young People in the Community’.

The Phoenix is described as a bird with a colourful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet(colours interpret the linking together of working groups in the community under one voice). At the end of it’s lifecycle it builds itself a nest of
twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes (the ashes represent Moss Side, Longsight and other parts of inner south Manchester that have become known for drugs, gangs and street violence), from which a new, young phoenix (young phoenix refers to the young people that the charity is involved with) arises, reborn anew to live again (‘reborn anew to live again’ this reflects the new life-chances offered by the charity).

Wilton Hall Branding

Graphite - Charcoal - Finished Digitally

Above is a project i worked on during the summer. I was asked to rebrand a local events hall (Wilton Hall). The composition was inspired by the decor of the place (very Roman-Greco) and the ideas given to me by the team. I also designed a website that wasn't used/completed properly in the end do to certain unfortunate circumstances. My intentions were to use the composition for posters, banners and brochures but in the end the team decided against it. I personally hate the work but it was an interesting task and i learnt a great deal from it.
